Roots, a Buried Manhole and a Piece of Porcelain on Waddington Avenue, Burnley
An intermittent toilet problem on Waddington Avenue turned into a proper bit of detective work. On the first visit our engineer CCTV'd from the soil pipe, found roots in the line and jetted them clear. The tenant test flushed and everything came through fine.

Because the upstream manhole was buried, the line couldn't be fully surveyed that day, so we came back. Our engineer located the manhole, excavated to uncover it, and put the camera towards the affected toilet, finding what looked like a broken pipe. Jetting the object out revealed the real culprit: a piece of porcelain sat in the line.
With the porcelain out, the line was CCTV'd again to confirm clear and dye tested from the affected toilet. Green dye flowing through, no further issues. That's the difference between clearing a blockage and actually solving the problem.
