Months of Mystery Smells Traced and Fixed on Pendle Fields, Burnley
The customer at Pendle Fields had been living with odours through the property for months, always worse when the doors had been closed for a few hours. Smells like that usually mean something is wrong underground, and it was.
Investigating from the manhole in the driveway, our engineer found a rubber seal and a stone wedged in the outlet, and CCTV showed signs of repeated tissue buildup from blockages that had been forming and self-clearing. Round the back, the foul line from the kitchen was hit with a severe fat blockage.
The seal and stone came out, the fats were removed from the manholes, and the lines were jetted and flushed through until everything ran free and flowing. The rainwater gullies at the front were dye tested too, to rule them out properly. No more mystery smells.
