Fat Trap Cleaned and Line Jetted at a Busy Food Market in Burnley
A fat trap in a busy food market was filling up far too quickly. We cleaned it out with suction and a high pressure wash, then flushed the rodding access. The water came straight back, so the line was blocked.
Jetting cleared it, and CCTV showed the line now flowing. But there are rods stuck in the pipe, and the old cast iron is heavily rusted and restricted.
The trap is working today. The proper fix is to lift the downstream manhole, jet the line and pull the rods out, but that cover is rust welded shut, so it needs planning.
