A Shoe Down One Gully, Cooking Fat Down Another on Casterton Avenue, Burnley
Two blocked gullies at one property on Casterton Avenue, with two very different causes. The first had a shoe wedged in it that had come off a rainwater pipe. The second, serving the kitchen waste, was packed solid with cooking fats.

Our engineer pulled the culprit out of the first gully, then cleared the fat blockage from the kitchen gully and jetted both lines through.
Both gullies flushed and confirmed free and flowing. A good reminder that cooking fat belongs in the bin, not down the sink, because it sets like candle wax inside your drains.
